Dear Jane.

Dear Jane:
I know that you will do well in your next endeavors. The
improvement you brought to IIE, especially Industrial Engineer is still
the main reason I maintain my membership. The change you brought to IIE
publications was tremendous and "tremendously needed." Even
though some of the contributors have changed since 2002 (when I first
wrote with feedback), the end result has been great.

I have greatly enjoyed your service as editorial director of our
magazine. It is not just what you write, but the grace with which you
write and work with everyone. Although you claimed to have had
"almost a decade of experience as editor," I feel as if I have
never known the Industrial Engineer magazine without you. Such is the
entrenched visibility that you have brought to the magazine. The utility
of the magazine has certainly increased during your tenure as editorial
director. I used to read and put away my copies. But, in recent times, I
have started pack-ratting the issues on my desk because each one is full
of useful references.
I wish you well in whatever your next venture is.

I want to give you my highest compliment on the wonderful job you
have done for the magazine. The publication significantly improved under
your watch! As a proud IE, I became very proud of our publication.
Thanks for your efforts and best wishes in your future.

I just wanted to say that I have enjoyed your editorials since I
joined IIE as a freshmen at the University of Alabama; you always
provide sound advice and insight. I can always relate to the information
and issues in your columns, especially in the "For the Record:
It's a Shame" column. Good luck in your new position!
