Acronis native file format supported by VMware.

Software World • March, 2008 • IT News and Products

Acronis, Inc. recently announced that organisations running virtualisationsoftware from VMware can now convert physical systems into virtual machines for backup and recovery using VMware Converter and the Acronis[R] True Image Echo family of disk imaging and backup software.

Support in VMware environments for Acronis True Image files means the system migration effort is simplified because existing Acronis image files can be easily converted directly into a virtual machine. Acronis True Image Echo image (.TIB) files are supported by VMware Converter, which converts Microsoft Windows-based physical machines and third-party image formats to VMware virtual machines. It also converts virtual machines between VMware platforms.
