Genre deficit.

I received my latest issue of Bookmarks (Mar/Apr) today and was disappointed. Literary Fiction racked up a whopping 14-pages, while all other genres rated only two to four pages. (Crime, my favorite genre, had only two titles reviewed!) I love Bookmarks and look forward to receiving it, but I would enjoy it much more if you could "spread the wealth" among the other genres.

Lisa, we received a couple of specific complaints about the number of crime reviews in our last issue. We strive for balance in each issue among all the genres, but we are often constrained by publishers' calendars. With crime in particular, most of the best authors' books come out right before the winter holidays, and again right before the summer. I hope you find the proportions in this issue more to your liking. And July/August should have plenty of wrongdoers as well.
