Multiple communications ports distinguish PXI controllers.

EE-Evaluation Engineering • April, 2008 • PRODUCT BRIEFING

Two new 3U PXI controllers, the PXI-3920 based on the Intel Pentium[R] M 760 and the PXI-3910 that uses Intel's Celeron[R] M 760, incorporate dual Gigabit Ethernet ports. They also support instrument control through various interfaces including LXI, GPIB, USB, and serial. One Ethernet port can be connected to the LAN and the other used to provide deterministic bandwidth and latency for LXI test instrument control.

The controllers have a GPIB port, four USB 2.0 ports, and two serial ports. Mechanically, the units feature onboard soldered CPU and memory chips, a solid-state disk drive, and cable-free construction to withstand 6-Grms vibration in harsh environments such as vehicle and avionic applications.
