Haymarket purchases German Co. & titles from US
healthcare communications.
Haymarket Media, Inc. (New York) has acquired two journals,
including "The American Journal of Hematology/Oncology" and
"Oncology Nursing News," from US Healthcare Communications
(Highland Park, NJ). No terms of the deal were given.
"The American Journal of Hematology/Oncology" is
published monthly and distributed to a mixed controlled and paid
circulation of 46,000 career care professionals, including those in such
fields as medical oncology, hematology, pediatric hematology, radiation
oncology, surgical oncology, gynecology, colorectal surgery, oncology
pharmacy, and nursing. An annual subscription costs $110 for individuals
and $143 for institutions.
Its mission is to promote the development of diagnosis, treatment,
and prevention interventions and to provide career specialists with an
overview of ongoing cancer research. Content is designed to "bridge
the gap" between research and practice and coves such areas as
pancreatic cancer, lung cancer, breast cancer, bone marrow transplants,
melanoma and trends in colorectal cancer.
"Oncology Nursing News" was launched in 2007 and is
published monthly. An annual subscription costs $110 for individuals and
$145 for institutions and it is targeted to nurses, nurse practitioners
and physician assistants working in cancer care and supportive services.
Editorial includes coverage of developments and actions by the FDA,
genetic testing for breast cancer, reports on prostrate cancer at recent
symposia, information networking, education and the Internet,
pharmaceutical developments, health plan cost sharing,
Haymarket Media's German unit (Hamburg) has acquired media,
advertising and communications magazine "The Kress Report"
(Heidelberg), along with its accompanying web site and directory, from
founder and publisher Guenther Kress. Haymarket currently publishes
"PR Report" for the German market.
Also, Prescribing Reference, Inc. (New York), a unit of Haymarket
Media and the publisher of the "Monthly Prescribing Reference"
(MPR) series of drug references for medical specialists, has launched
"MPR Hematology/Oncology," a quarterly journal that carries
information on relevant new pharmaceutical products, FDA news, recalls,
treatment, and therapies.
Besides the above mentioned journals, other medical titles produced
by Haymarket Media include "Renal & Urology News,"
"Cortlandt Forum," "Clinical Advisor," "Journal
of the American Academy of Physician Assistants,"
"McKnight's Long Term Care News" and "Assisted
Living."
