Nova Science Publishers (Hauppauge, NY) has begun the publication
of four new quarterly medical journals, including "Journal of Child
Health," "Journal of Alternative Medicine Research,"
"Journal of EndoCardiology" and "Journal of Pain
Management."
The "Journal of Alternative Medicine Research" publishes
research papers on all aspects of alternative and complementary medicine
practices, with a focus on past and present results as well as the
possibilities for the future. Topics covered include alternative and
complementary treatments, maintenance of human health, development and
longevity, social policies and funding. ($95 per/year)
The "Journal of EndoCardiology" covers the relationship
between endocrine organs and the cardiovascular system, including how
both "traditional" and "new" endocrine organs
interact with the heart and arteries through endocrine, paracrine and
autocrine mechanisms. Nova said the mission of the journal is to promote
the study and understanding of this network for the creation of new
diagnostic tools and therapeutic targets for high risk individuals
($195).
Targeted to those in the scientific interested in pain management,
the "Journal of Pain Management" has an emphasis on applied
research and carries reviews and research results that "will
influence clinical practice in contemporary pain medicine,"
including acute, chronic and cancer-related pain. The new title carries
information from all fields including medical specialties, basic
science, psychology; nursing, physical therapy, social work and
occupational therapy ($195).
Finally, the "International Journal of Child and Adolescent
Health" is targeted to medical and scientific professionals
involved in the practice of child health, adolescent health and human
development. It is designed to be a forum with a holistic approach to
public health issues, health and medicine, health and social policy,
services aspects, developmental aspects, epidemiology, rehabilitation,
genetics and other aspects of human development ($195).
