Commonwealth Business Media (CBM; East Windsor, NJ), a unit of United Business Media and the publisher of trade, transportation and travel information, news and intelligence, has acquired the MRO (maintenance, repair and overhaul) forecast data division of AeroStrategy (Ann Arbor, MI; Amersham, UK) for $900,000 with an additional performance-related consideration of up to $1.2 million payable over a three year period. CBM has purchased the data business related to five major aviation MRO market segments covering business and general aviation, military, air transport and civil helicopter operators. CBM said the acquired assets provide "outstanding synergy" with its Official Airline Guide's (OAG) data suite and its Aviation Industry Group's "MRO Magazine" and conference products. AeroStrategy will continue to update the database under a three year service contract while transitioning all processes to the existing content management group at OAG.
