NAPIM reporting--State of the
Industry.
The Outlook Survey, which will be presented as part of the State of
the Industry Report at the 2008 Annual Convention reports that 54% of
ink company respondents experienced 2007 EBIT of 0-5% and 41% greater
than 5%. Among suppliers reporting, 30% experienced a sales increase of
greater than 5% and among ink companies, 26% experienced a similar sales
improvement greater than 5%.
The top internal issues of primary concern were health care and
transportation costs. Externally, raw material costs, as one might
expect, was the top concern.
