Cambridge Economics Group.
Cambridge Economics Group (CEG; West Des Moines, IA) has launched
MedMal Express (med-malreports.com), an online subscription service for
law firms and attorneys who handle medical malpractice cases.
Subscribers to the service can evaluate any number of cases and
scenarios to generate possible settlements and settlement predictions.
The service factors in the lawsuit's jurisdiction, the age and
gender of the patient, and gives the average settlement and judgment. It
is targeted to both plaintiff and defense attorneys and evaluates
different case strategies, such as adding or dropping a client and
changing an accustion, and compares payments in different scenarios,
such as when a case is dismissed or if a patient's medical outcome
changes. The service can also be used by insurance companies to
calculate how much money to reserve in a case. Subscriptions cost $95
per month.
