Sheshunoff Information Services (Austin, TX) has published
"Guide to Laws and Regulations Protect-ing Military Personnel and
Dependents," a new loose-leaf manual that is a guide designed to
help financial institutions comply with all of the laws and regulations
governing their interaction with current and former members of the armed
services and their dependents. It is described as "your map to the
regulatory minefield (that) can help you avoid penalties for
violations" and includes information on: the proposed regulation
governing loans to military personnel and their dependents; the Service
Members Civil Relief Act; the Uniformed Services Employment and
Reemployment Rights Act; and, active duty alert requirements and
protections offered to military personnel under the Fair and Accurate
Credit Transactions Act. It also covers the Talent-Nelson Amendment,
sometimes called the "Military Payday Law." Updated as needed,
the new title costs $525
