William (Bill) Alford, 81, Farm Broadcaster and long-time member of the National Association of Farm Broadcasting (NAFB).

He began his career at WOI AM/FM/TV, Ames, IA, reporting market news on radio and TV.

In 1957, Alford joined WMT, Cedar Rapids, IA, as Nat'l Sls Dir. When WMT became part of Orion Broadcasting, he was named Ag Sls Dir for all four Orion stations.

In 1981, he became Ag Sls Dir for Blair Radio. He finished his career with the Frank Magid & Associates research firm in 1987.

In 1974, he received NAFB's Meritorious Service Award.
