Intended for educators of students in grades 2-4, Making &
Writing Words: Essential Word Families, 40 Sequenced Word-Building
Lessons is a ring-bound compilation of lesson worksheets with
transparencies ideal for teaching young people about phonemic awareness,
phonics, spelling, and vocabulary. Each lesson is presented in three
components: a teacher page with the content, a corresponding and
photocopiable response sheet that students use for that lesson, and a
transparency that matches the student page, the better to help guide
students in writing the words that are part of each lesson. By way of
example, lesson 17 is about the phoneme "eed" as in
"feed", "bleed", "freed",
"exceed", etc., while lesson 32 is about the phoneme
"ow" (or "how") as in "allowance",
"eyebrow", "cowboy", etc. An extremely easy-to-use
resource, enthusiastically recommended for grade-school educators.
