Time was when tilapia was primarily enjoyed by price-sensitive
consumers in Egypt and other countries along the Mediterranean and Red
Sea coasts. While the farm-raised whitefish remains just as popular
there today as in the distant past, its mild-tasting, flaky fillets have
become increasingly menued by chefs in North America and Europe during
recent years. Now, Gloucester, Massachusetts, USA-based Gorton's
has introduced a frozen retail pack of oven-ready Five Star Tilapia
Premium Fillets enrobed in wheat-based breading. Five pieces typically
come per 488-gram box, which sells for $5.99.
