Frozen food processors can count on getting a belt out of Reinach, Switzerland-headquartered Habasit AG. Founded in 1946, the company has served the special and individual belt needs of its many customers for more than 60 years.

All kind of applications and processes--molding, rolling, depositing, cutting, folding and, of course, transport/transfer (rework, general conveying) of baked and frozen foods all need the right belts. Habasit thus partners with customers to provide optimal solutions for individual needs.

The company says that it has the broadest range of belting products on the market, and that it offers comprehensive services to go with them. Its product range includes fabric-based conveyor belts, plastic modular belts and chains, power transmission belts and timing belts, as well as gear motors.

The brand new Micropitch M0870 Flat Top is a versatile plastic modular belt, specially designed for tight and smooth transfers to ensure stability of delicate and small footprint products such as frozen seafood, processed meat and poultry, and small fruits and vegetables.

With a minimum nosebar diameter of 7mm, the distance between nosebars is only 15mm, thus eliminating the need of deadplates for most can sizes. Due to the design of the Micropitch, the vertical displacement is very low, thereby transfers are smoother, minimizing product damage.

Extensive Representative Network

Habasit has 34 affiliated companies, and more than 70 representatives as well as numerous service centers to provide customers with expert advice and tailor-made solutions. In 2006, sales increased by almost 14% to CHF 711 million (US$ 583 million, or approximately 442 million euros), while investment rose by 304% to CHF 155 million (US$ 127 million, or roughly 96.5 million euros).
