Bosch Packaging Technology, Waiblingen, Germany, has opened a new
state of the art manufacturing facility in Verna Industrial Estate, Goa,
India, to produce and assemble packaging technology equipment for the
food industry and other sectors.
"The Bosch brand is synonymous with quality, technology and
innovation which are reflected in the tailor-made solutions that we
offer customers across the globe," remarked Friedbert Klefenz,
president of the company. "Our machines are a preferred choice for
many large businesses worldwide."
Bosch has already sold more than 400 packaging machines and process
equipment units in India to leading food processors and other
industries, and exported an additional 75 machines, mainly to the food
industry. The 2,600-square-meter Goa facility employs 80 people and has
an initial capacity to manufacture 120 machines a year. There are plans
to increase this to 240 machines in three years.
