Grant writers seeking connections to corporate foundations and funding can tap into a free Web portal launched this month by The NonProfit Times. The portal gives nonprofits and other researchers free access to more than 4,300 searchable records of corporate donations valued at $1 million or more.
The portal is powered by Internet search company NOZA, Inc. The only free service of its kind, users can search, view and save information about a corporate donor, recipient organization, size of gift, and year of donation. Nonprofits can research current donors and create customized prospect lists to assist in solicitation planning.
Access is available immediately at www.nptgrantsearch.com or from NPT's home page, www.nptimes.com. The new Corporate Philanthropy Portal will be updated monthly.
"NOZA is pleased to be teaming with The NonProfit Times which so well serves the critical need for nonprofits to say informed about the impact of philanthropy sector news and practices," said Craig Harris, founder and chief executives officer of NOZA. "It is gratifying to combine our strong suits to help nonprofits who are seeking new sources of seed funding or new major gift prospects."
This is the second time NOZA has released data for free from its core searchable database of more than 31 million charitable donations. In October 2007, NOZA announced a free searchable database of charitable foundation grants as part of Web site.
"NOZA is utilizing the most advanced technology so the nonprofit community can all have affordable access to prospect research advances," said John McIlquham, president of NPT Publishing Group, parent company of The NonProfit Times. "We are thrilled to be able to offer this valuable, interactive component to The NonProfit Times' audience."
Corporate giving totaled approximately $12.7 billion during 2006, accounting for more than 4 percent of the estimated $295 billion donated to U.S. charities, according to Giving USA.
