Metal castings displayed for construction, aggregate
industries.
In March, the American Foundry Society (AFS) participated in the
CON-EXPO-CON/AGG 2008 Exposition held at the Las Vegas Convention
Center, Las Vegas.
AFS took advantage of this event as an opportunity to market
metalcasting to the construction and aggregate industries. The AFS
exhibit featured casting competition winners from the last few years, as
well as information about the metalcasting process, educational
opportunities, and casting design and sourcing assistance available at
AFS.
CONEXPO-CON/AGG draws professionals involved in all segments of the
construction, aggregate and ready mixed concrete industries, including
contractors, materials producers and government and institutional sector
officials from around the world. The event is held every three years and
showcases the latest equipment, products, services and technology. This
year's event was attended by an estimated 144,000 industry
professionals.
"CONEXPO provides AFS an opportunity to exhibit the
capabilities of the metalcasting process to one of our largest customer
markets--the construction and aggregate industries," said Alfred
Spada, AFS director of marketing, communications and PR. "The
one-on-one communication we have with casting buyers looking for
assistance in designing and sourcing castings is amazing."
