AFS Webinar series focuses on casting design, energy
savings.
The American Foundry Society (AFS) has introduced a new series of
webinars designed to benefit and educate metalcasters, design engineers
and buyers. The 20-25 minute web-based seminars offer a convenient and
cost-effective way for industry professionals to increase their
knowledge about significant topics facing the metalcasting industry.

In February, AFS offered design engineers and buyers a free webinar
on casting design. Focusing on the benefits of the AFS Design Solutions
program, the webinar provided a broad overview of alloy selection for
any new product, concurrent design and engineering processes,
evaluation, modeling and prediction, and functional prototyping to
production. One-hundred eighty-eight participants took advantage of the
session. To view the casting design webinar online, go to

In January, AFS offered a free energy webinar, "Investigate
Energy Savings," to assist metalcasters in making well-informed
decisions for their operations. The webinar provided information about
the AFS Energy Solutions program and the savings it offers. Fifty
metalcasting professionals participated in the webinar.
