Springer Science + Business (New York) has begun the publication of
three new journals, including "Journal of Cardiovascular
Translational Research," "Journal of Chemical biology"
and "Neuroethics."
Springer and the International Society for Cardiovascular
Translational Research (La Jolla, CA) have begun the publication of the
"Journal of Cardiovascular Translational Research," a new
quarterly title that carries information on developments in the area
"between biomedical research and clinical medicine, with an issue
in March. The new publication publishes research and articles in the
areas of cellular therapy, genomics, personalized medicine and devices
for the potential treatment of advanced cardiovascular medicine. It
includes content in which translational research involving such
disciplines as genetics, proteomics, epidemiology and pre-clinical and
clinical research is used to advance the understanding of disease or
response to treatment, Springer said.
The "Journal of Chemical Biology" is a quarterly title
targeted to chemists, physicists, engineers, researchers and
theoreticians and carries information on new innovations and discoveries
in the physical sciences that can be applied to the cellular
environment. Its mission is to provide a forum for the exchange of
information between the physical and life sciences disciplines and in
particular professionals in the chemical biology community.
Finally, "Neuroethics" is a new quarterly that covers
studies in neuroethics and related issues in the sciences of the mind.
Launched with a March issue, the journal focuses on the ethical issues
posed by new technologies developed via neuroscience, such as
psychopharmaceuticals, the practice of neuroscience, the problems of
legal regulation of neuroscientific technologies, and the ways in which
the sciences of the mind relate to traditional moral and philosophical
problems, such as the nature of free will, moral responsibility,
self-deception, weakness of the will and the nature of self.
