Bank wins primary dealer award.(Commercial Review)

DFCU BANK LIMITED has won the Annual Primary Dealer Award for the year 2007.The deputy governor of Bank of Uganda, David Opio Okello, handed over the award to DFCU's executive director of Consumer Banking Paul Musoke at a colourful ceremony which took place on 6 March at the Bank of Uganda.

Speaking at the ceremony, the deputy governor said the Bank of Uganda introduced the primary dealer system in 2005. The objective was to promote financial markets and the demand for government securities, and boost market efficiency through a reduction in administrative costs.

Paul Musoke said that DFCU bank will mainly focus on the local population and design the best products for them. The bank is going to be a strong force and have a lot of plans. This year it will open seven branches in the country, he said.
