PPP finance chosen in Botswana.(Commercial Review)(Brief article)

BOTSWANA'S GOVERNMENT ADVERTISED in the international press for expressions of interest in participation in a novel public-private partnership for the design, construction, capital financing and facility management of the planned new Botswana International University for Science & Technology (for details see 'Building new institutions', this issue). Applications were due to close on 24 March.

The intention is to receive applications from consortia made up of a mix of international, regional and local businesses, lenders and investors with experience in all these services in an educational context.

The International Finance Corp is advising on structuring of the project and final selection of the private investor via its Advisory services Dept in Johannesburg.
