THE GOVERNMENTS OF Ghana and Uganda are recruiting consultants for major economic planning projects.
As part of the National Medium-term Private Sector Development Strategy Accra is now evaluating offers of professional help with formulating its overall industrial policy, with special reference to:
* Regulation and incentive regime;
* Technology and innovation;
* Production and distribution; and
* 'Cross-cutting issues' in industrial policy.
The project is part of the President's Special Initiatives scheme.
Meanwhile in Kampala the Finance Ministry (which also covers Planning and Economic Development) has at the same time been recruiting consultants capable of developing in two separate phases an integrated macro-economic model under the government's complete Financial Management and Accountability Programme (FINMAP).
