Tea prices mixed.(Commodity Report)


PRICES FOR KENYAN tea at the weekly tea auctions held in Mombasa have been somewhat mixed in recent weeks on account of quality variations. At the 19 March auction, best Broken Pekoe Ones (BP1s) sold at US$3.20-US$2.40 per kg, compared with US$3.33-US$2.51 at the previous week's auction, and US$3.41-US$3.05 a month earlier. Best Pekoe Fanning Ones (PF1s), meanwhile, changed hands at US2.55-US$2.26 a kg, compared with US$2.60-US$2.05 a week earlier and US2.90-US$2.19 per kg on 19 February.
