Q: I completed my master's degree in industrial engineering in
India two years ago. I'm now in New Jersey, but I don't have
any previous job experience. I need some advice about which area of
industrial engineering I should take and which books to read to refresh
myself on certain topics.

A: You may want to focus on what type of job you are looking for.
First, you may want to brush up on general industrial engineering
principles. Refreshing yourself with some supply chain engineering
materials as well as acquiring some familiarity with common simulation
packages (ARENA, for example) will also enhance your probability of
finding suitable employment.
