BitDefender[R] and SOS Online Backup[TM] have joined forces to deliver an integrated online storage, backup and recovery solution, designed to protect BitDefender's business and consumer customers against data loss or deletion due to harmful Internet attacks and system failures.

Offered as BitDefender Online Backup, the service provides BitDefender's customers with the latest in online, offsite storage and backup technology allowing customers to protect their valuable data. SOS's technology backs up files to a global network of datacenters powered by SOS Servers. The data is compressed using SOS ShrinkRAP[TM] delta compression prior to transfer, ensuring only binary changes made to the files are sent over the network, significantly reducing bandwidth consumption, and allowing the user to store an unlimited number of versions of any given file.

Starting with BitDefender Total Security 2009--scheduled for release later this year, BitDefender home users will be able to use the online backup capabilities through the seamlessly integrated backup module. Customers of earlier versions may compliment and complete their proactive protection by adding BitDefender Online Backup as an option.
