Greensboro, N.C.'s, Water Resources and Parks and Recreation
departments hosted more than 300 area fifth graders as part of the
seventh-annual Water Festival held April 9 at the Bryan Park/Townsend
Water Treatment Plant.
The students participated in eight hands-on activities that support
the fifth-grade curriculum.
Activities covered a variety of topics, including the city's
water distribution system, water cycle, water conservation, aquatics,
water treatment chemicals and pollution prevention. Student teachers
from the University of North Carolina's Greensboro campus gave
demonstrations and served as group leaders and presenters.
