Thorns & roses.

Chief Executive (U.S.) • June, 2008 •

ROSE ...

In an age of tedious on-message politicians, BORIS JOHNSON, who recently defeated Labour incumbent "Red" Ken Livingstone for Mayor of London, is a one-off. Despite his Etonian and Oxford pedigree--even his detractors concede his intellectual brilliance--the former Spectator editor and Conservative MP for Henley with a Raggedy Andy hairstyle, is hardly the typical Tory politician. Say goodbye to London's congestion pricing. Say hello to the Conservative party's chance of unseating PM Gordon Brown.

THORN ...

In an interview on PBS' Charlie Rose, former AOL Time Warner vice chairman TED TURNER argued that inaction on global warming "will be catastrophic," and those who don't die "will be cannibals." Hey Jane [Fonda], the ol' boy is off his medication again.
