Riggs's kit keeps Redemption on track.

Being able to hire reliable and efficient filling and depositing equipment quickly, combined with the proactive support and expertise of Riggs Autopack, has helped a North-east-based food firm expand rapidly.

The on-going relationship between The Redemption Food Company and Riggs Autopack grew alongside the development of Redemption's strong presence within the airline and railway industry.

Central to this expansion was the initial hire of two semi-automatic Model 1000 depositors used to deposit a range of soups, sauces and dressings, where it was crucial to have equipment that had a quick changeover time and excellent cleanability.

Quick growth within the railway industry meant that the latest order from Redemption needed to be upgraded and instead of making the machinery obsolete the company called upon Riggs Autopack to fully automate the original hire depositors.

Riggs Autopack customised the equipment to meet the exact needs of Redemption who subsequently purchased it outright. The depositors were tailored to include a transfer conveyor, lid tamper and a rotary table.

The modified machinery is now being used to fill 4kg buckets and 200g pots with a range of 30 standard soup lines and 50 different bespoke sauces, dressings and mashed potato directly from modified tote bins.

The depth of knowledge that Riggs Autopack showed has left a lasting impression on Redemption's operations manager, Mark Crow who said: "We were very impressed with Riggs' attention to detail and ability to understand exactly what we required from the offset. The equipment is simple and easy to use, which has made training trouble-free and in turn has allowed us to keep up with demand and increase our throughput."

The Model 1000 depositors are suitable for a broad range of applications and come in bench-top and floor standing models either semi-automatic or fully automatic.

Riggs Autopack's sales manager Bob Lumb said: "The attributes of the Model 1000 series make it ideal for companies such as Redemption because of their ease of operation and rapid cleaning in place and maintenance programme. Redemption required a system that was flexible and interchangeable and we were able to utilise the hire machinery to meet these needs."
