BLOWING ROCK -- Watauga County will pay $3.15 million to buy land
around Tweetsie Railroad to help the theme park survive. Part of its
track runs on land it leases, and the property owners want to sell.
Tweetsie agreed to spend $13 million in the next 20 years to expand and
renovate the park
