Lamont Buffington, a retired senior partner at the law firm of
Garan Lucow Miller, P.C., has been named Detroit Science Center Life
Sciences Volunteer of the Year. The award for Volunteer of the Year is
on the Pi Society docent who best exemplifies the dedication to science,
imparting knowledge to the children and patrons and using their talent,
skill and humaneness to help provide visitors to the museum with a fun
and enlightening experience. The criterion for award selection further
includes: hours of service, quality of service extending beyond the call
of duty, feedback from staff and visitors, assist DSC in a variety of
projects, and recommencation from staff/peers.
