Many dogs eat way too fast, and the DogPause dog bowl is the first
product to get them to savor their meals.

"It was an unmet need," said CEO John Funk, who worked
with inventor Nancy Kerrigan (a distant cousin of the ice skater of the
same name) in developing the product. "Small dogs that eat too fast
choke, they gag, they throw up. There are also some medical
issues."
Funk described the bowl as "decorative but highly
functional," pointing out the key feature: four segmented zones, a
half-cup each, that prohibit the dog from snout-diving and inhaling the
food. The bowl debuted in April, followed by a complementary water bowl
in May.
$17.95 retail.
