Egyptian young superstar Tamer Husni is going through a state of
depression over the failure of his latest film "Captain Hema".
Since the films launch into theaters around Egypt, it has not proven any
significant success with extremely low profits. One of the factors
behind the obvious failure is the screening of the two films "Asif
Lilizaj" (Sorry for the Trouble) starring Ahmad Helmi and
"Bokshash" starring Muhammad Saed.
The film "Captain Hema" started out on a positive note
when it first came out despite the fact that it was released at the same
time with the film "Hasan Wa Marqas" starring great Egyptian
comedian Adel Imam and famous Egyptian and international actor Omar Al
Sharif.
Tamer lost hopes on having his new film "Captain Hema"
achieve the same success as his previous film "Omar Wa Salma"
starring with the young Egyptian actress May Iz Al Deen, which made over
20 million Egyptian pounds.
"Omar Wa Salma" came in third place last summer season
after the films "Murjan Ahmad Murjan" starring Adel Imam and
"Kidah Rida" starring Ahmad Helmi and Mina Shalabi.
In the new romantic film Tamer plays the role of 'captain
Hema' who is a simple guy with big responsibilities especially
since both his parents are dead. He falls in love with a girl and
everyone on her side attacks him, yet he fights for her till the end.
On a different note, a group of internet activist asked for the
banning of Tamer Husni's latest album "Arabni Minak" (Get
Closer to me), because they feel it reflects bad taste and has a bad
image. Tamer's latest video clip for the song "Heya De"
(That's her) which is included in his new film is seen to have many
inappropriate scenes.
Tamer's supporters fought back for him and his music saying
that Tamer brings new changes to the Arabic music. 2008 Al Bawaba
