2008 CAC Scholarship awards presented.

Mushroom News • August, 2008 • Industry news

Three award recipients joined CAC's Scholarship Committee Chairman Pete Alonzo at the AMI Avondale office in June to pick up $1,000 checks for their college education. Nine scholarships were awarded to high school students this year based on grades, community service and an essay about mushroom farming. "Our goal is to give deserving students a little support to continue their education," said Alonzo.

The Scholarship Committee has donated more than $340,000 for educational projects. "We've been doing this for a lot of years and are happy to fund education, training and outreach to the community," said Alonzo. "Our guys are very generous, and we all want to be good neighbors."

The 23rd Annual CAC - Mushroom Festival Golf Tournament will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 2 at the Kennett Golf Club in Kennett Square, PA. For information about tournament sponsorship or playing golf, call the AMI Avondale office, 610/268-7483.
