To give businesses greater confidence and peace of mind when buying used forklift trucks, Barloworld Handling has developed an independent mark of quality for pre-owned Hyster trucks. The 'Approved Used' mark provides a guarantee that all used Hyster trucks from Barloworld have undergone stringent tests, service and repairs, before delivery to the customer.

When buying a used forklift truck it is important to look for a reputable supplier who has access to a good stock of machines and can offer clear advice. Barloworld Handling is one of the UK's leading dealers of used forklifts and has access to a significant range of warehouse and counterbalance trucks to suit most materials handling needs.

Most of Barloworld's used trucks are ex-rental machines having been maintained by Barloworld from new. Once returned to the company's national used equipment centre they undergo a thorough evaluation, service and repair process prior to re-sale. Each used truck must pass Barloworld's stringent quality check before being awarded 'Approved Used' status for re-sale.

Every 'Approved Used' truck undergoes a written evaluation and full service including repairs and replacements due to wear or damage, paint repairs and a steam clean. Each truck is given a major inspection of components including pedals, lights and gauges, paying particular attention to the steering and brakes, oil and fluid levels and the lifting and tilting mechanisms. The tyres are also re-cut or replaced if required. Barloworld performs an engine analysis on every truck and provides a handover package, including an operator manual and spare key. Additionally every used truck is delivered with a valid certificate of Thorough Examination to comply with LOLER 98 * legislation.

Under the Approved Used programme Barloworld provides two levels of truck finishing, QUE and QUE+, so that customers can choose a truck matched to their application and budget. QUE+ classified trucks receive an additional level of preparation which includes a full body repaint, brand new tyres, forks, seat and lift chains and, in the case of electric trucks, a new battery.

Barloworld offers full parts availability and service support for all Approved Used trucks through its national support network of 600 engineers.
