The Belgian ready meal producer, Le Medaillon, has chosen SilviPak
for the launch of its chilled oven dishes in the stores of the Dutch
retailer Super de Boer.
"Designed with very good insulating properties SilviPak
belongs to a new innovative generation of food packaging. Heat is
retained while the virgin wood fibre does not become hot on the external
outer surface.
The tray is cool-to-the-touch which means that it can be handled
straight away by consumers after heating in either microwave or
conventional ovens," said Jacob Hobbel, account manager at the
Belgian ready meal producer Le Medaillon.
"As the product is made from virgin wood pulp, a renewable
resource, and laminated with a thin plastic barrier film, SilviPak
reduces oil consumption by 90 percent compared to an equivalent plastic
package," added Hobbel.
"We are very pleased that Le Medaillon, our first customer on
the Benelux markets, has chosen SilviPak for the launch of its chilled
oven dishes together with the Dutch retailer Super de Boer. Le Medaillon
is a green company with products that are more natural and contain
ecological ingredients for discerning consumers that pay attention to
the packaging. This fits very well with the SilviPak packaging solution.
We are very excited about the market potential of the Benelux
region," said Joakim Stockhaus, vice president of SilviPak.
