Police hunt as thieves take TV.

Evening Chronicle (Newcastle, England) • Sept 5, 2008 • News

DETECTIVES are hunting a burglar who left a house carrying a 37-inch flat screen TV set.

A Northumbria Police spokeswoman said two men fled when they were disturbed at a house in Birtley Avenue, Tyne mouth, on Wednesday.

Officers searched the area and arrested a 33-year-old man on suspicion of burglary but no trace was found of the other man or the TV set.

The spokeswoman said: "It is believed two intruders forced their way in at the front of the house but they were disturbed by an occupant and ran out of the front door.

"One was carrying a 37-inch flat-screen television."

The man police want to trace is described as white and in his early 20s.

He was wearing a white Chelsea-type jacket with a blue stripe.

Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone who saw or heard anything or who has information should call North Shields CID on 03456 043 043, ext. 63144 or 63126.
