SMELLS and sounds will help imaginations of children run wild thanks to a funding boost.

Groundwork East Durham has received pounds 4,500 from the Strategic Initiatives Budget to deliver Green start activities in the Washington area.

The project will help children enjoy the natural environment allowing them to experiment with natural textures, smells and sounds.

Launched in 2002, Green start focuses on early learning, providing interesting play and encourages interaction between parents and children. If your group has an idea for a project or is in need of support, find about SIB funding on (0191) 561 11 6 2 .
