Higher salaries.

Chemical engineers' salaries have risen 50% since 1996 and in the last two years pay has increased by 9%, according to statistics published by the Institute of Chemical Engineering (IChemE). David Brown, ceo of IChemE, says that there has never been a better time to be a chemical engineer. Graduates entering a career in chemical engineering can now expect to command salaries of 26 000 [pounds sterling]/year.
