Combating the internal & external causes of
aging.
NutraGenesis, Brattleboro, VT, has introduced Sendara, a branded
"beauty-from-within" nutraceutical ingredient that helps
combat the internal and external causes of aging skin by providing
multifunctional, restorative, skin-fortifying nutrition, while
increasing resistance to the skin-damaging effects of stress. According
to the company, Sendara is a combination of two multi-patented Ayurvedic
extracts: Indian gooseberry (Amla) and ashwagandha.
Aging of the skin is caused by a variety of environmental
(extrinsic) factors, such as the sun's rays, air pollution and poor
nutrition; and internal (intrinsic) factors, such as the secretion of
stress-induced hormones including cortisol. Deep within the dermal
matrix these factors cause collagen--the binding protein that literally
holds the body together--to deteriorate and lose its natural elasticity
resulting in fine lines, wrinkles and sagging skin. Sendara's
proprietary formula boosts resistance to premature aging by preventing
free radical damage to the dermal extracellular matrix, and reducing
stress-related hormone levels. This lessens the negative environmental
impact on the skin, and increases circulation of oxygen and vital
nutrients to rejuvenate skin cells. When incorporated into dietary
supplement products, Sendara's "look good-feel good"
formulation delivers advanced skin health rejuvenation from within,
providing dermal nourishment to protect delicate skin tissue, restore
radiant skin tone and increase resistance to stress.
Further, NutraGenesis claims that clinically proven in vivo and in
vitro models have shown that Sendara features potent, substantiated
structure/function claims for skin/anti-aging, stress reduction, sun
protection, inflammatory response and multi-mechanism antioxidant
action.
