BenQ Middle East and Africa is capitalising on the region's
increasing demand for technology in education by sealing three contracts
in the UAE, Kuwait and Syria.
Digital Lifestyle leader BenQ, through one of its dealers in the
UAE, Emirates Computers, will provide MP622c projectors and SP831
projectors to one of the government-supported education organisation
council in Abu Dhabi. Ebla Computers, the company's distributor for
projectors in Syria, has also closed the tender to supply MP511 and
MP612 projectors to Damascus University, one of Syria's prestigious
universities. Consequently, BenQ's major Kuwait distributor Al
Alamiah, has won the contract of providing more than 2000 MP723
projectors to various schools and universities under the Ministry of
Education in Kuwait.
"The education sector across the region is increasingly
embracing technology by introducing high-tech teaching equipment. As a
key feature in what educationist call 'collaborative
technology', for more than five years, projectors have radically
altered the dimension of how teachers and students share information and
ideas," said Manish Bakshi, General Manager, BenQ MEA.
"BenQ is currently number two with 13 per cent share in the
projector market in the Middle East region and we continuously aim 18
per cent market share and become number one. With the recent launch of
our short throw projectors such as MP771, MP512ST and MP522ST, we hope
to penetrate not only the education sector but majority of the
corporate, retail and government institutions," he added.
Currently, BenQ is the first brand to offer the short throw
technology in projectors covering SVGA, XGA and high-end XGA models.
BenQ short throw projectors, with its short-throw ratio lens precisely
calculated and positioned, are able to deliver large-screen projection
in tight spaces without jeopardising picture quality. The MP512ST is
best for home entertainment use while the MP522ST is customised for
small and corporate businesses.
The new BenQ MP771, a high-brightness XGA projector, is tailored
specifically for the education sector, perfect for limited spaces such
as lecture halls or classrooms and small conference rooms. The MP771
provides a highly affordable solution making classroom or boardroom
sessions both fun and engaging.
In the UAE, MP511, MP612c and MP620c are the other BenQ projectors
available in the market. Meanwhile, BenQ MP771, MP723, the economical
MP622c and MP622 as well as the high-brightness SP820 and SP830
projectors are popularly used in the education sector in MEA region.
