Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Thursday that he is
ready for debate with US presidential candidates at UN headquarters on
global developments in presence of world media. Ahmadinejad made these
remarks in Tehran.
"I have no plan to meet with US politicians but as I have
already declared I am ready for debate with the US presidential
candidates at UN headquarters," he said, according to IRNA.
"During my last visit to US I announced that we are ready to meet
with President Gorge W. Bush but he is at the end of his tenure and
cannot leave any impacts on both sides' relations," the
Iranian leader said.
On his country's nuclear plans, he said IAEA has verified the
"peaceful" nature of Iran's nuclear program 12 times and
there is no problem to this end. The new report issued by ElBaradei has
confirmed that the ountry's nuclear program has no diverted from
its right track, he said.
The Iranian nation will never give up even one iota and those who
seek to step up economic sanctions against Iran are very weak and
disappointed, the Iranian president noted.
