PopCap Games Inc., Seattle, a leading developer and publisher of casual video games, has launched Mystery P.I.(TM) - Portrait of a Thief for Nintendo DS(R), an all-new "seek-and-solve" puzzle adventure game. This marks PopCap's second entry in the Nintendo DS market, following the launch last month of Amazing Adventures: The Forgotten Ruins(TM). PopCap's DS line-up also includes the widely anticipated Peggle Dual Shot, slated for release in Q1 2009. Mystery P.I. - Portrait of a Thief carries an MSRP of US$19.95.
"With our 'seek-and-solve' titles -- Mystery P.I. -- Portrait of a Thief and Amazing Adventures: The Forgotten Ruins, we're providing an extremely high level of entertainment value with brand new adventures that appeal to Nintendo's widening base of casual gaming enthusiasts," noted Greg Canessa, VP of Video Game Platforms at PopCap. "These, plus the Q1 arrival of Peggle Dual Shot, round out our initial line-up of games for the DS with additional hits forthcoming."
In Mystery P.I. - Portrait of a Thief, players assume the role of a world- famous private investigator, called upon to solve the mystery of priceless paintings that have vanished from a valuable private collection. With 18 chapters featuring multiple locations, nine of which are exclusive to the DS, players discover clues as they try to piece together exactly how a gallery of paintings has disappeared without a trace.
Players will also collect awards, encounter new characters and keep track of their game in the case log while unlocking gameplay modes and mini-games. Mystery P.I. - Portrait of a Thief also provides a dual screen interface and touch-screen functionality, and allows for up to three individual profiles so players can pass the game around to family members.
Mystery P.I. - Portrait of a Thief was developed in partnership with Black Lantern Studios.
