"New Jersey Lawyer" sold to Incisive Media.

The "New Jersey Law Journal" (NJLJ; Newark, NJ), an Incisive Media (New York) publication, has purchased the assets and liabilities of "New Jersey Lawyer" from the New Jersey State Bar Association (New Brunswick, NJ). No terms were given.

Incisive has ceased publication of "New Jersey Lawyer" but will continue to produce the "Daily Briefing" e-newsletter for Bar Association members. Also, "NJLJ" will provide the Bar Association with dedicated pages in each issue of the "NJLJ" and the Bar Association will appoint five new members to the "NJLJ's" board of editorial write. In addition, "NJLJ" and the Bar Association will cooperate on e-newsletter and web site publishing and links.

"New Jersey Lawyer" was launched by the New Jersey State Bar Association in 1992 as a weekly source for the legal profession and courts in New Jersey. Distributed to a paid circulation of 9,500, the newspaper was the official newspaper of the New Jersey Supreme Court and carried all current bar notices, digests of the latest court decisions, news on legal trends and ongoing cases, and coverage of pending and enacted state legislation.

"New Jersey Law Journal" is published weekly for a mixed paid and controlled circulation of 31,000 managing partners, solo practitioners, general counsel, corporate counsel and related business executives across all practice areas in the state. Content covers a wide variety of legal issues and developments including state mergers and acquisitions, bankruptcy law, professional malpractice, real estate, title insurance and construction law, estate planning, automobile injury, law office and trust account management, employment and immigration law, and alternate dispute resolution.

Bar president Peggy Sheahan Knee said the deal "will have the benefit of shoring up our financial picture so we can continue to broaden our efforts to serve our members and the public for years to come."
