At its March 28 Spring Seminar, the Michigan Government Finance Officers Association (MGFOA) conducted a poll using an interactive audience response system. The approximately 200 attendees used wireless handheld units to answer questions such as "What do you expect your municipality's revenue levels to be next year, compared to this year?" (The majority of respondents expected revenue levels to decrease.)
The polling system is a PowerPoint add-on that allows audience members to answer questions shown on a screen, with answers tallied in real time. The data is also stored so it can be analyzed after the presentation.
MGFOA's poll was conducted by Cobalt Community Research, a nonprofit coalition for local governments and non-profit organizations.
