Jordan's King Abdullah II and Syrian President Bashar Assad on Friday held talks on ways to revive joint cooperation and current efforts to promote pan-Arab solidarity and achieve a united Arab stance to deal with Mideast issues and common challenges.

The two leaders, during a meeting at Raghadan Palace, stressed keenness to boost bilateral ties and develop cooperation in different fields to serve the two countries' interests. According to Petra news agency, the Jordanian host and Assad stressed need to achieve inter-Arab reconciliation and support pan-Arab solidarity.

The two leaders stressed importance of achieving inter-Palestinian reconciliation necessitated by Palestinian national interests.

It was President Assad's first visit in Jordan since 2005.
