The Lebanese artist Qamar Al Tahish, known as "Qamar" and the producer Jamal Marwan have been engaged in a conflict, released in a statement by the music company 'Melody.'

According to the London daily Elaph, Jamal Marwan the president of Melody Entertainment Group has sued Qamar for slander and the case will be heard in a Cairo court. Jamal claims that Qamar threatened Marwan and his family because of the conflict over the contract that Qamar has with his music company.

The problem started when Qamar requested to end her contract with 'Melody' before the legal end of the life of the contract.

The penalty for early termination of the contract is US$1 million.

Marwan has submitted nasty text messages on his cell phone from Qamar as evidence to the court.

If the court rules against Qamar he could face fines or imprisonment.

For now Qamar is banned from performing in Lebanon, Egypt and she is not allowed to enter Jordan. 2009 Al Bawaba (www.albawaba.com)
