Aspen Publishers (New York), a unit of Wolters Kluwer Law & Business, has released "Worldwide Merger Notification Requirements," a loose leaf set designed to offer a single source of information to stay current and in compliance with international merger requirements. It is produced to act as a guide for parties contemplating a multination atransaction in any of 217 international jurisdictions and highlights the disparate ways in which competition authorities treat mergers, including differences in notification timing, filing fees, turnover, size and post-merger market share thresholds, potential penalties, and volume and type of required filing information. It covers the standards of review the competition authority will use in analyzing a transaction, including substantive issues, regulatory approval, costs, sectoral regulations, non-merger control statutes, and international agreements that may affect approval.
