Electronic budget cuts costs.(News & Numbers)

British Columbia made its 2009 budget primarily available electronically, a cost-effective choice that also supports the province's commitment to be carbon-neutral by 2010.

Most recipients received the budget documents on CD, reducing the number of printed copies by 60 percent and saving C$160,000. In addition, moving from paper to CD halved distribution costs.

The province also encourages people to view the documents online and print only the pages they need.

The online version of British Columbia's budget is available at http://www.bcbudget.gov.bc.ca/2009/de fault.htm.
