Steak is associated with guy things, good times, grilling, being frivolous and environmentally unfriendly, and with restaurants that are outselling the general restaurant slump. Supermarkets are losing their share of the steak market to more and more venues, the latest being the new Yankee Stadium.

Baseball food has evolved before, from "peanuts, popcorn, and Crackerjacks," to hot dogs, nachos, and beer. Now, Yankee fans can get a premium steak sandwich at the tony Lobel's window for $15.00 plus fries. Fans who like the sandwiches can buy raw steak to take home. There are three messages here for supermarkets:
1. Cooked foods trigger sales of raw foods.
2. Men enjoy being enticed to buy steak.
3. The links between food, theatre, and entertainment continue to proliferate.
