Air Arabia Maroc

Air Arabia Maroc, Morocco's new low cost carrier (LCC) announced today that it will launch services to London's Stansted Airport beginning May 6, 2009. Roundtrip flights will operate four times per week between Stansted International Airport in London and Air Arabia Maroc's hub in Mohamed V International Airport, Casablanca. The LCC will fly to London on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays departing Casablanca at 02:15 am arriving in London at 06:35 am. Return flights will depart London at 07:20 am arriving in Casablanca at 09:50 am. May 6, 2009

Bmi

Direct passenger flights could resume between the UK and Baghdad after the airline bmi announced plans to open an Iraq service. It flies to some of the most politically sensitive destinations in the world from Heathrow, including Sierra Leone, Lebanon and Iran, and has held talks with Iraqi government officials about adding Baghdad to its network. The UK government has banned direct travel between the UK and Iraq by UK aircraft or British registered carriers, but bmi indicated today that it will lobby for a lifting of restrictions. El Al Israel Airlines

El Al, IsraelOs national airline, is cutting prices on travel to Israel this spring/summer with reduced fares in premium (first and business) and economy classes, additional savings for families and a value packed combination air and five-night deluxe hotel package in Jerusalem. Platinum Business Class passengers departing from New York (JFK/Newark) can travel now through the peak summer months for USD 2,400 (including the fuel surcharge), a savings of up to 40 percent. A 15 percent discount is now offered on First Class fares when two people purchase tickets at the same time and travel together roundtrip to Israel from New York (JFK/Newark) and Los Angeles. Ethiopian Airlines

Ethiopian Airlines Journeys, together with the Tanzania Tourism Board, launched an Archeology Adventure of East Africa at the Archeological Institute of America/Archeology MagazineOs Gala Dinner, held April 28, at Capitale in New York City. The Ethiopian package will feature stops in Axum, the reputed resting place of the OArk of the Covenant,O along with Lalibela, where travelers can marvel at the 12 rock-hewn churches, carved from solid red volcanic rock in the 12th century by King Lalibela. In Tanzania, travelers will be able to visit the Olduvai Gorge, the OCradle of MankindO and Laetoli Footprints, where the Leakeys discovered the first humanoid skull 50 years ago.
